Instructors and Directors

Jill Blalock Lord (Masterclass,Triple Threat Instructor and Director) is the founder and Producing Artistic Director of Ohlook Performing Arts. She is the lead director of the Production Classes and all 4 Masterclasses. She has a BA in Vocal Performance from Texas Tech University. After making her professional Opera debut while still in college, she was chosen to be a part of the acclaimed Merola Program of San Francisco Opera where she spent 2 seasons touring across the country. After many operas and musicals in many countries, Jill and her husband Matthew Lord (creator and star of The 3 Redneck Tenors) started Ohlook as a way to help train the next generation of artist, including their 2 daughters.

Since starting Ohlook they have produced over 200 productions, the majority of which have had Ms. Lord as the lead director. In the past  she has directed 2 shows to the AACT National Level, winning with Dog Sees God at the National competition in 2011 and International competition in 2012 and named Best Director at both. Many of her students are now making their way in the business, on Broadway, National Tours and television.

Heather Biddle (Monologue/Audition Workshop and Ohlook's Education Director) is celebrating her 6th year at Ohlook this year and looking forward to a great time. She is the head theater director for JJ Pearce High School in Richardson Texas and mommy to two amazing girls Brooklyn, a student at Ohlook and Kennedy a future student. Favorite directing credits include Sweeney Todd, Bat Boy, Phantom of the Opera, Secret Garden, Songs for a New World and The Sparrow. Favorite Ohlook memory will always be "Dog sees God". 

Matt Mitchell
Matt Mitchell (Monologues and Scenes, Film Acting, Director) has been teaching theater for the past 13 years, and although new to Ohlook's teaching staff, he has been seen a lot on the Ohlook stage - performing as St. Jimmy in Ohlook's Regional Premiere of American Idiot, Dr. Parker in Bat Boy, and a multitude of parts in Ohlook's original production Citizen Drumpf.  Directing credits include:  Peter and The Starcatcher, Spamalot!, The Addams Family, The Last Days of Judas IscariotSweeney Todd, and The Who’s Tommy.  Matt recently appeared in the film When The Bough Breaks, and has been seen in regional commercials for Taco Bueno, The Home Depot, and Zaxbys.  He studies at Michele Condrey’s REACT Studios and is SAG-AFTRA Eligible.  More at imdb.me/matthew.m.mitchell

Taylor Wallis (Director, Productions) is very excited to be teaching at Ohlook! She recently graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, IL with a B.A. in Theatre. At Millikin she was seen in a reading of the new musical Golden Gate, by Michael Kooman & Chris Dimond, along with several other productions.

Some of Taylor's favorite credits at Ohlook include Little Women (Jo), Beauty and the Beast (Belle), and The Secret Garden (Martha). She also played Marcy in Ohlook's producion of Dog Sees God that won the National AACT Festival in 2011.


Abi Abel (Tap) is a Fort Worth native and a life long tapper. This actress/singer/dancer/choreographer began her dance training at age 3 with Frances Lea (Broadway, Casa Manana), then began studying under her tap mentor Larry Howard (a protégé of Bob Fosse, stand-out credits: Copa Cabana, Jackie Gleason, Broadway, Casa Manana) when she turned 8. She has been under the tutelage of great tappers such as Ted Levy, Ryan Kasprzak (SYTYCD), Miller & Ben, Andrew Nemr (Cats Paying Dues Plus), Sarah Reich, and Max Pollak (Rumba Tap).

Abi began her professional theatre career here in Fort Worth at Casa Manana Theatre when she was 7 as a featured tap-dancing orphan in Annie. At Casa Manana, she worked with and studied with many great actors, directors, and choreographers including Bud Franks and Franny Franks, Ed Holleman, Joel Ferrell, Jody Madaras, General McArthur Hambrick, Mel Dacus, and Guy Stroman. Some of her favorite theatre productions include Anything Goes (Bonnie),Annie Get Your Gun, Fiddler on the Roof (Tzeitel), Moon Over Buffalo (Eileen), 42nd Street (Diane Lorimer), The King and I, and Sorcerer’s Apprentice. She has appeared as a feature dancer in Sonic commercials (dancing with Frankie Avalon), a PB Max candy bar promotional film, and in a Dr Pepper industrial production. She has also done commercials for Fort Worth hospitals and for Junior Achievement. Her choreography credits include Fiddler on the Roof, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Seussical, Jr (assistant choreographer).

A graduate of Texas A&M, Abi studied Journalism and Philosophy and chose to gain her entertainment education in the world of professional theatre and dance. Abi currently teaches tap for Gracey Tune, performs and choreographs in theatres around DFW, and holds tap workshops for all ages, all levels. She has been the dance teacher and choreographer for the Texas Wesleyan Dance team for 3 years. She is involved in many local art and entertainment projects and is currently singing, collaborating, and creating with a local band.

Ken Bell (Broadway Dance/Audition Prep Class) is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with two degrees in Economic Sociology and Cultural Anthropology as well as minor in Dance Performance where he choreographed and performed in various works with the SMU Dance Department. He has interned with Dallas Theater Center, Casa Manana Theatre, and Theatre Arts Center NYC. For 3 years Ken created magic at Walt Disney World performing in Move it! Shake it! Dance & Play it! Street Party; Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun Parade; Fantasmic!; and several other shows and special events. Over the past few years Ken has been teaching and setting award-winning choreography at studios and theatres specializing in Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre. Emmalyn Miron (Broadway Kids, Monologue, Acting) holds her BA in Music Theatre and Acting/Directing and is a Licensed Master Social Worker.  She has performed with the National Broadway Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cotton Patch Gospel, which toured Ireland, The Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, Shakespeare Dallas, MBS Productions and Theatre Britain. She was also a member of the cast of the Jekyll & Hyde Club, Dallas, and Chorvettes Stageworks Company: Goodwill Ambassadors for Oklahoma. 

Emmalyn was Director of Enrichment and taught theatre at Coram Deo Academy for 8 years and is a prizewinner Irish Dancer. She is so excited to be coming back to OhLook this semester! 

Alexandria Goldberg (FUNdamentals of Music) will graduate from TWU with her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education EC-12 in May 2017. Upon graduation, she plans to become Kodaly certified, ESL certified, and certified in Special Education. She plans on teaching Elementary Music or Middle School Band. During her time at TWU, Alex has performed with the Wind Symphony as principal horn, conducted the University Band, played in the Honors Recital, has been nominated for multiple awards, volunteered as a teaching assistant, and is part of Pi Kappa Lambda. She is so excited to start working with the students of OhLook Performing Arts Center!
